Claire Murray

For anyone who wants to improve their digestion, gut health, and lower inflammation holistically.

I’m Claire, your health detective!

Whether you have uncomfortable digestive symptoms or other chronic symptoms, a healthy gut can support your whole body in every way: optimal digestion, immune function, energy production, metabolism and weight management, mental health, hormonal health, joint and muscular health and regulate levels of inflammation in the body (and increased inflammation is a key factor in all chronic disease).
Gut health is one of the key foundations to total health and that’s why I’m so passionate about this.

I help those with chronic digestive issues to understand their body, support healthier gut function and find a diet that works for them without feeling deprived. My aim is to help you feel comfortable and less bloated, gain freedom from the stress of your symptoms and actually enjoy food again (and life!). Having suffered from troublesome gut issues and unexplained symptoms, I know exactly how much they can get in the way of living a normal and enjoyable life.

I want to help you.
My Story

In my mid 20’s I experienced an explosion of health problems: feeling constantly sick and dizzy, severe joint and muscle pain, an IBS diagnosis, acne, depression, insomnia and unexplained liver inflammation which baffled my GP and a private liver specialist. Following all the routine medical checks and tests, I was told there was nothing wrong with me (my elevated liver enzymes were left as an anomaly). I was (unhelpfully) given multiple antibiotics “to see if they helped”. After making no progress through conventional medicine I started researching possible causes for my symptoms and found myself reading about the role of nutrition in chronic illness.

I decided to see a nutritional therapist and was recommended a food intolerance test and a stool test. I had over 60 food intolerances and was reacting to nearly everything I ate. The stool test identified a marked imbalance in my gut microbiome: a candida overgrowth. Candida is a type of yeast that’s found naturally in the gut but when there’s an overgrowth it can cause all of the symptoms I was experiencing, including the liver inflammation (due to the toxins that Candida produces). A candida overgrowth or any kind of gut dysbiosis can cause low grade inflammation and hyper-sensitivity to different foods.
