☀️I help Crohn’s and Colitis patients get symptom relief & stay in remission longer
Licensed Dietitian with IBD
I’m Ashley Hurst, and I’m a Registered Dietitian. I help people get relief from complex digestive and immune system problems.
If you’re struggling with managing symptoms of Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis…
If you’ve just been diagnosed, or you’ve felt frustrated by medical treatments that haven’t helped (or have made things worse)…
If you know deep down that nutrition is critical for getting well, but you feel like you’re guessing about what to put on your plate every day…
Then I invite you to discover how food can help you reclaim control and get your life back.
It’s confusing taking control of your health.
But you don’t need to do it alone.
I’ve Been There. I Get It.
I specialize in working with patients who have inflammatory bowel disease, and I am also an Ulcerative Colitis patient!
I understand the things you’re struggling with right now – the pain, the bloating, the constant running for the bathroom – because I’ve been there myself.
When I was initially diagnosed as a college student, it turned my world upside down. My symptoms made it close to impossible to work or study. I had to drop out of my collegiate athletics program and give up a promising running career.
It felt like I was watching “normal life” disappear, one piece at a time.
After my first colonoscopy, my doctor handed me a packet of information about Ulcerative Colitis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Right on the first page, it said, “Dietary choices don’t impact IBD.”
The pamphlet claimed that what I ate every day made no difference in how I’d feel or how my disease would progress.
I didn’t buy it. I knew that wasn’t the whole picture….
After my diagnosis, I felt confused and disappointed by my limited treatment options – so I dedicated the next 10 years to learning everything I could about managing UC symptoms with nutrition.
I learned exactly how dietary choices affect overall health and wellness, and I traveled all over the world learning what really works (long-term) for treating Crohn’s and Colitis.
Along the way, I got a Master’s degree in Medical Nutrition Therapy and wrote my Master’s thesis on Nutrition and Probiotics Interventions for IBD. I also became a Registered Dietitian and opened my own private practice.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of patients with digestive challenges, many of them with Crohn’s or Colitis.
I’ve been able to see the incredible transformations that are possible for people when they get customized, evidence-based nutrition insight and lots of support.
